2,459 participants. 10,000 survey responses. One real-world marketing problem.
I’m thrilled to share that I placed 2nd in the Codebasics Resume Project Challenge #9, a global competition that tested participants on their ability to turn messy survey data into actionable marketing insights.

This challenge wasn’t just a technical exercise, it mirrored the real-world problems many businesses face:

  • How do you understand your market?

  • Where are your opportunities?

  • What marketing strategies will drive growth?

Let me walk you through how I approached the problem and how these same strategies can help your business win in the marketplace.

The Challenge: Making Sense of 10,000 Survey Responses

The fictional company CodeX, a German beverage brand, had just launched its energy drink in 10 Indian cities. They wanted to understand:

  • Who their consumers were

  • What marketing channels worked

  • How to position their product against competitors

My role? To step into the shoes of their Marketing Data Analyst, Peter Pandey, and deliver a 15-minute, CMO-level presentation of marketing insights and strategic recommendations.

Tools & Methods I Used

To analyze the survey data, I leveraged:

  • Python (pandas, seaborn, matplotlib) for data cleaning and exploration

  • Statistical techniques like the Chi-Squared test for identifying brand perception drivers

  • Marketing theory to frame insights in a business-relevant way

  • Storytelling and visual design to deliver an engaging executive presentation

This was more than just analysis—it was insight transformation.

The Insight Journey: From Data to Strategy

The presentation was divided into two phases:

✅ Phase 1: Deep Dive Analysis

  • Defined the target market using demographics and preferences

  • Mapped brand awareness and channel effectiveness

  • Identified purchase behaviors and brand penetration gaps

  • Benchmarked CodeX against its competitors

✅ Phase 2: Strategic Marketing Plan

  • Created customer personas

  • Applied the 4P’s of Marketing (Product, Price, Place, Promotion)

  • Developed a mock advertising campaign

  • Suggested actionable strategies for product development and channel optimization

The final presentation simulated a pitch to the CMO—sharp, focused, and data-driven.

What This Means for Your Business

If you’re a business struggling to turn data into decisions, this is exactly where I come in.

Whether you’re launching a new product, optimizing your marketing funnel, or trying to understand customer sentiment, I specialize in:

  • Survey data analysis

  • Market segmentation

  • Brand and competitor insights

  • Dashboard creation (Python, Power BI, Looker Studio)

  • Marketing automation and analytics

This competition win isn’t just a trophy—it’s proof that I can bring real insights to real problems, even under pressure and tight deadlines.
